I've been gone to Texas for about a week, with my iPad.

Sadly enough, Zoho Discussions isn't compatible with Apple's iPad version of Safari, so I couldn't post for a while.

Now I'm back home, so I'll be able to post more.

Muktware, PCWorld and Linux for Devices are just some of the many news sites which are making mountains out of mole hills after DuckDuckGo's Linux Mint agreement.
Yes, DuckDuckGo often does ditch Microsoft competitors (because of their great use of the Bing API), but saying that DuckDuckGo provides the same results as Bing is going too far.

I randomly typed in jo and look what I see as an advertisement.
Shouldn't that ad be removed? Especially because it isn't relevant to the search, and not very child-friendly?

I've tested out the new version at http://72.94.249.37, and it's really great.

I think that the look and feel is just great.

One thing, I've noticed that the ads are mixed in with the search results, but in yellow, kinda like what Google and Ask are doing.
Users get confused, click the link, and you get revenue.

Fine, but doesn't that get a bit annoying?
In settings will users be able to disable that?

And,
any plans for integrating search suggestions in this new release?
Or will you implement it sooner?

I know that it's still experimental, and you'll probably change some things before you release it, but just my 2 cents.

This is a feature I really love: the idea of a thumbs up and thumbs down button to make the 0-click info more useful. I'm doing something similar to that with Dumb Search, and so is Ask. Something like the screenshot above would be quite cool, in my opinion. DuckDuckGo could even have a thumbs up and thumbs down button for the search results when the search result is hovered. I really like this idea, and DuckDuckGo wouldn't even have to track it's users for this.

I've just changed my username from "James Hunter" to "dumbsearch".
1. People started calling me "JH" instead of "James Hunter", because @James Hunter seems quite confusing.
2. Also, in older topics, people called me "@dumbsearch" before my username changed to "James Hunter". So people will get confused if they see no user by the name of "dumbsearch".
3. My twitter username is @dumbsearch.
If any of you disagree with this change, just PM me.

I found out that in this forum

was on almost every post. Now, I find it kinda weird that around the same time, I got my first link spammer on Dumb Search, who signed in as "Pen". Pen spammed nit-nurse.com on Dumb Search. Then, Pen sent me a me a PM saying "I'm new here. I do link building for a head lice solution. I'm still figuring out how this thing works. You? :)". Pen probably PMed anybody randomly, but Pen happened to PMed me. From what I know, Pen signed in with a Google account... Just wondering if I could be of any help, and if this was related to the link spamming that was performed on duck.co at a similar time. See, Pen could have spammed here, and then followed the link in my signature to Dumb Search.

And is there any way to add CAPTCHA for guest users?

I've just visited the !Bang page. I've noticed some things wrong, like:
1. Gabe said that now it's DuckDuckGo, not Duck Duck Go. And there's DuckDuckGoodies. Why is the title of the !Bang page "Duck Duck !Bang"?
2. I've noticed that that sometimes it uses "Blogs" (plural), and sometimes it uses "Forum" (singular) when naming a list. Shouldn't it just stick to plural?

I just set up DuckDuckGo as my default search engine.
Sorry to say, but I find myself going to Google 95% of the time after trying to find what I want on DDG. And I find it on Google.
1. I think the fact that DDG pops the filter bubble can also give you less relevant results, especially because almost all my searches are HTML/PHP/CSS related.
2. The fact that you're using the Entireweb API. Entireweb is the worst search engine for finding what you want.

I just realized that the SSL cipher that Google uses is more powerful then the one DuckDuckGo uses.

As said by another Guest:
With a few config related things you can get higher score.
NGINX sample: ssl_ciphers ALL:!NULL:!aNULL:!eNULL:!ADH:!LOW:!EXP:!MD5;
