It is blue now on the inside page as well, i.e. different. The green/red combos yield too much Christmas feeling, and the blue on the homepage looks too like Google.

i'm all in with the green button. Red and green are in the logo (green bowtie), so it makes a lot more sense than the blue button.

I like the orange-red color. It does kind of gather attention, but not really.

yeah, it isn't anywhere near as distracting as google's hideous black bar.
i noticed that with default color settings (light green), the duck's tie is red, rather than the logo's green. when i change the color to red or blue, the bow-tie matches the logo. maybe you could include settings to allow the user to swap out various other colors, such as the 'go' button and the duck's bow-tie. :)

oh, and here's my gimpshop. not a huge fan of the red/orange, myself, but i suppose it makes sense with the current logo.

actually, i think the zero-click box is important enough to remain as is. that's the thing i always look at first, and it would be irritating to have to do that every time i search.

i noticed that the +/- are gone from the zero-click box. are you intending for it to be minimized/maximized by clicking on the "Sounds from the Ground' bar itself, or is being gotten rid of completely?

on a similar note, after minimizing the zero-click, it comes back maximized on the next search/reload. perhaps you could add an option to have the +/- state of the zero-click box 'stick'. that way, the user could quickly en/disable it on the go. there would still be an option to remove it completely or to just keep it always maximized by default, but this might make searching more convenient for those who don't use it as frequently but still want it available.

actually, i think that the top bar looks around the same height, but i agree with you that the 0-click box looks just fine thin, though that's coming from somebody who uses the 'windows classic/95' theme.

perhaps there could be a setting to toggle between the two styles?
