DDG could be a good example to the rest of the internet community. I am a European citizen, not Dutch, Belgium, or German. So I want EU results, not Dutch or German results. Is it possible to add the EU to the region preferences?

But there are so many languages across the EU. You can understand them all? I am a European citizen, but I only understand one language (most understand two, maybe three). I can't see how including search results in many languages can help with a search.

I'm Portuguese and as much as I believe in European integration and consider myself an European citizen, I have to agree that language is a barrier. Besides my native Portuguese, I understand Spanish, French, English and bits of Italian. But it would not be relevant for me to view results in Dutch or German for instance.

We have to keep in mind that the EU is not a country, it's 27 amazingly diverse sovereign countries with rich culture, history and languages. We are not the United States of Europe and gladly so. Which doesn't that we can't accomplish great things together to cement Europe even more on the world map.

Just my two cents ( and I mean € cents!) about something that seems to be lacking in European politics: Europeism.

From a technical point of view, I believe a European Union region option would be possible. At the moment, DuckDuckGo already has a region setting that groups multiple countries together - Latin America.

I can't but agree. Some (not enough imo ;) don't care anymore for regional appartenance finer-grained than EU. Please help us by giving us our true region.

As for the language issue, it may be possible to apply different filters for region and language. Even if you are not willing to provide EU as a region, since i live in France but would rather have results in English, separate settings would come in handy.
