Get rid of LyricsMode as Zero-Click info, please?

I'm in a musical mood today, so I decide to sing along my favorite bands and have some happy and awkward time.

I search "This Charming Man lyrics" and I get this as Zero Click Info:

A punctured bicycle / On a hillside desolate / Will nature make a man of me yet / When in this charming car / This charming man / Why pamper lifes complexeties / When the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat? / I would go out tonight / But I haven't got a stitch to wear / This man said it's gruesome / That someone so handsome should care / I'm just a countryboy / Who never knew his place / He's safe written the raven / He knows so much about her / He knows so much about these things / And would go out tonight / But I haven't got a stitch to wear, oh yeah / This man said it's gruesome / That someone so handsome should care.

But guess what, the lyrics are incomplete and even incorrect (It's "punctured bicycle", without the "a"). So I say well, let's look for another Smiths song, "Reel around the fountain":

Reel around the fountain / Slap me on the patio / I'll take it now / Oh ...

What was that? That's not the complete song, that's not even 1/30th of it! But I'm calm, so I decide to visit LyricsMode to view the full lyrics.

But guess what? The lyrics are invisible unless you enable Javascript, which you shouldn't do in order to read static text.

So I'm asking you guys, can you ditch LyricsMode? It's awful, there are so many ads it's unreadable, the lyrics are often incorrect or the song is wrong, it forces you to enable Javascript and it's overally a horrible site. I know 99,9% of lyrics sites are garbage, but I'd prefer something ran by users like http://lyrics.wikia.com/Main_Page rather than giving LyricsMode any more revenue. Or if you guys knew an ever better alternative (since even the one I linked forces you to enable Javascript, but Wikia is on my whitelist anyway).

What do you exactly like about it? It's not different from any other ad-filled lyrics site, it may be owned by MTV but it's the same as many other sites. And it's not like it has a larger database or it has features that other lyrics sites don't have. If you have solid arguments backing up your claim I'm willing to listen to them, but unless you expand on your argument I don't think you have a point.

Well, I like looking at rare songs, and lyricsmode always seems to have it.

The reason why you get wring lyrics is because of several versions: http://www.lyricsmode.com/search.php?what=songs&s=here+there+and+everywhere

I have written them about ditching the ads from our referrer, but haven't heard back. That's what really annoys me about it.

The other stuff has reasons.

--Not full lyrics -- this is a choice on our end out of not violating copyright. It is intended to click through for more than the paragraph displayed.

--Wrong lyrics -- generally they seem as good as other sites.

--JS -- agree this is annoying, but doesn't effect most people.

We went with them because they were way more comprehensive: see bottom of http://duck.co/#topic/28469000000511127.

That said, happy to switch it out but there are so many high-pri projects for myself. However, this part is open source so if people are interested in it, anyone can make this happen. Just let me know.

OK, I heard back from them and they absolutely refuse to get rid of the stupid ringtone ads.

Would there be any way for you to implement a "Non-JS sites only" result? So, if I search for lyrics and I have my DDG search configured to include only sites which do not need JS to display static text (which is preposterous, as stated in the original post)? If there is no way to detect which sites do and do not need JS to display the lyrics, I'd be willing to go through all of the ones in the link above (http://duck.co/#topic/28469000000511127). I found one already (here), but I understand that as it ranked low on the results test in the above thread (165, whereas top was 540), you may want to check all others too.

Thoughts?

Yeah, that's difficult to do (tell which ones need JS). However, the lyrics db is not dependent on lyricsmode. That is if there were other DBs to drop in they should work, but they need to be crawled and put in the right format. If anyone wants to take that on, I'm all for it, but yeah, we'd want it to be as comprehensive.

www.songmeanings.net lets you view the text without enabling javascript
(This is important, I selectively enable javascript because I do not surf without protection)

www.guitaretab.com also does not hide the goods behind code that you must download and run locally on your machine.
