To knoba:Can you please provide a screenshot of your particular issue to start tracking down the cause? You can upload an image directly to Zoho via the formatting bar. Just make sure you scale it down properly. The information you've provided is limited and somewhat confusing. As this is a UI problem, having an image where we can identify the problematic UI elements would be most helpful.
Also, the kernel you use on Wheezy is irrelevant (it's even a bit old to have running on Debian Testing, actually). What
IS important
for now is the browser version (which you've provided), a list of possibly conflicting addons or userscripts, your browser and system locale settings and your windows manager.
Having personally run Iceweasel on Squeeze, from Testing to Stable using a wide swath of configurations, I have never encountered these problems.
As for "chasing this bug down":
Firebug, is a nice place to start. Then again, running Debian
Testing, you
should know that.
And finally, if your issue is not related to the search box, than please consider opening a new thread with the requisite information.
To yegg:I think the initial problem with OP may be a font (size?) or zoom issue. Because, if you zoom in like a maniac with ctrl++ or ctrl+mouse_wheel_up the search box breaks in the same place. I also noticed that the font size for "cars" is slightly larger than normal and there appears to be some distortion on the magnifying glass that only seems to occur at an elevated zoom level.
