Hello -- I read about DDG, and how you have set up a TOR exit node. Question: How do I know if I search on DDG (while on TOR) that my search will wind up using the DDG exit node? Aren't the TOR circuits chosen at random?
Besides that, I guess I am struggling with what the below quotes (from your blog) actually mean:
"Using Tor and DDG,
you can now be end to end anonymous with your searching.
[It's my understanding that my data is encrypted by TOR until the last leg of the circuit (at the exit node), at which point it becomes unencrypted. So are you saying that as long I trust the host of the exit node (e.g., DDG), then my search would be anonymous?]
I also do not understand why using the encrypted homepage is different/better/stronger than being anonymous with the method described above:
"And if you use our
encrypted homepage, you can be end to end encrypted as well."
[Are you saying that, with TOR running/connected, if I input the url for that encrypted homepage (or link to it), then perform my search, that when I click on link(s) in the search results, my visit to those other websites will be encrypted (end to end encryption)]?
Thank you for clarifying.
