One thing for which I find myself resorting to the !g tag is local business searches. I've just gotten used to using Google instead of the yellow pages. Are there any plans to get some kind of local results going in the future?

Welcome to the forums, polrbear!

DuckDuckGo does have local zero-click results powered by Yelp, but I understand that's not really what you're looking for.

As far as I know, adding local results is not currently a high priority for DuckDuckGo.

Actually the Yelp results are pretty much what I'm talking about... but they seem to be somewhat incomplete. A search for a few businesses in my local area turns up nothing.

I believe that DDG has a Yelp! bang, which may perform a similar task.

Yes, we are working on it would like it to come up more. Specific examples would be helpful.

Okay, quick example. I live near Springfield, Missouri. A large tractor and equipment dealer in Springfield is Ozark Power Center. If I put "Ozark Power Center" into Google, I get a nice local result with a map and phone number. DDG gives me OPC's website as the first result, but no local result. Searching with a !yelp bangtag gives me a list of matches... in San Francisco???
