Force desktop version?

I know there are ways to do this by tweaking the useragent of my mobile browser, but it would be awesome if I could force only DDG to be in desktop mode. Could this be a new setting, or an extra link on the homepage when a mobile browser is detected? I realize this interface is nice for phones (and anything with a screen that small), but for a tablet, the desktop version looks/works best.

If anyone has suggestions for firefox/opera mobile addons which could accomplish this only for duckduckgo.com, I would appreciate that as well, as a short-term solution.

DDG Dark Theme II

I just made a DDG dark theme with the visual refresh, using a combination of DDG settings and a userstyle.

It's not quite finished yet, and only really works on results pages.
The url params for my settings
and the userstyle (which is currently made to work with firefox, though there isn't much to change for chrome, or other browsers)

Bug in support site with Opera

Looks like the text doesn't clear out of the search box on the support site when you click it, in opera. Opera supports
1. <input type="text" placeholder="blah blah blah">
Which is what is currently up on the community platform, and working in all browsers I've tried.

Also, another user suggested making it a 3-column layout to make better use of the available space, instead of having a bunch of whitespace. Sounds like a good idea to me, especially for widescreens like mine.

The community platform needs a logo!

If any of you awesome artists out there could produce a logo for the Community Platform, that would be great. I have a few concepts, but my artistic skills are rather limited

There are pretty much two main guidelines which the logo should conform to though:
1. It will be placed primarily in the header, which is about 53 pixels high right now, so just make sure it will fit in there.
2. It should show the 'community' idea, while still showing that it is a DuckDuckGo site.
You can also use this image to get a general idea of the size, though the width could be whatever you choose, within reason. Also note that the header color will probably change, so make sure whatever you do can stand out on any background, or can be easily tweaked later on.

Bug in the whois goodie

Looks like a possible bug in the whois 0-click goodie, which I sadly can't find in the github repos

This query, and a few others just say "Registered by ."
Some queries such as https://duckduckgo.com/?q=whois+75.106.69.122 show absolutely no 0-click for some reason, but I suppose that is better than *almost* showing it...

WOT warnings not working

Looks like the WOT warnings (default setting to only show warnings) is not working right now. I don't see any icons unless I enable all WOT icons.

EDIT: and a little unrelated problem: !kol is listed twice on the !bang page (thanks to lembas on IRC for pointing it out)

WorldCat 0-click

WorldCat is an excellent international library search engine. I see duckduckgo already has !worldcat, but I think 0-click integration would be awesome. I've been looking for ways to do this, and found the worldcat API , but looking at the privacy policy it seems that worldcat will collect and disclose personal information if "We are required to do so by law". Since the API should only be used for books, however, I don't really see how they could collect personal information from your DuckDuckGo searches

So, do you think it's worth that slight risk to get some great info on book searches?

EDIT: to make it clearer how this would avoid sending normal searches to WorldCat, I think it should only use the API if the search query includes the word 'book', or matches a pattern like '..., by ...' e.g. 'Dune, by Frank Herbert'

Unicode in 0-click

It would be awesome if I could search for a unicode character (eg. ó [\ xf3 without the space]) and have 0-click info about what character it is (right now it goes to a page on the x-files website
Not really sure where to get this information, so if anybody knows please comment :)

Useragent of Lernid not properly recognised

I've been playing with lernid, the new ubuntu-classroom application. It has a built-in webkit web browser, so I thought i'd try going to duckduckgo. Everything works fine, except it thinks I am using safari
This is the useragent according to the ddg useragent goodie:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.26+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/534.26+

Reverse 0-click search

Right now, when I search for a specific program, I get its description (almost always).
However, If I search 'python IRC bot', It should come up with phenny, and maybe a few other things as 0-click. This is a bad example because almost all the results are phenny-related, but that is not always the case.

I understand this would be a bit difficult, and maybe a bit slower, so it could have a syntax rule like
'python IRC bot software' or 'python IRC bot program'

Why not?

search launchpad and github in 0-click box

Hi, I just recently (a few days ago) set up a github mirror of my launchpad project because I prefer git to bzr
Today, I remembered that github projects come up in the 0-click box, so I searched for "DOSprompt"
Unfortunately, nothing related to my project came up anywhere. not even the launchpad page which has been there for about a year.

The github part I understand because it may not have had time to index my project either, but isn't there 0-click support for launchpad? If not, could you please add it?
also, I think there should also be support for github-pages (eg. http://crazedpsyc.github.com/DOSprompt/), although I don't think they are searchable, so I don't know how.

By the way, I think the clear button in the search box is awesome!
