This is an idea literally conceived moments ago when I attempted to "figure out" if a particular site had an existing !bang I could use.

For example, I wanted to come up with a cool word to describe a meaning but wasn't quite sure what that word may be. The best site for this kind of thing is Stack Exchange English. 

So naturally, being a DDG user I wanted to find out if there was a !bang for english.stackexchange.com
I know the common !bangs "!sx " for the main StackExchange and "!so" for StackOverflow but I have never cared to find out /remember / memorize any !bangs for the other StackExchange sites such as "English" and "Astronomy" etc.

Anyway, the idea is this - there should be a way I can query DDG with something like "!bang english.stackexchange.com" to A) check if a !bang exists for it and if it does B)  tell me the specific !bang command. 

Of course, this info should generate in a nice little zero click box :)

This would be faster than the only other way I know, which would be to goto the main !bangs list and CTRL-F for the name of the given site you want to check for.

Midori, the lightweight open source web browser, uses DDG as it's default search engine. Great!

Unlike Mozilla Firefox, Midori has no 'Start Page' of it's own (although Midori users do have the option to set the startup default to "Speed Dial" or "Show last open tabs").

This proposal would see the Midrori / DDG Start Page above adopted as the default homepage out of the box.

Have given some thought on how DDG can monetize in other ways beyond just textual ads.  Came up with this concept... basically, a banner spot that appears from the bottom of the browser.  

After the results are loaded, the banner would "slide up" into view (Jquery effect).



And as you scroll down through results the banner remains pinned and above content; similar to how the DDG searchbar currently does it.

This kind of advertising could attract bigger budget 'promotional ad dollars' such as for films, cars, or other institutional advertising.

Today I searched !sotck FR.TO

Obviously, what I meant to type was !stock FR.TO

After my search failed to direct me to Google Finance, I looked for the problem and noticed the spelling error.   My intuition led me to expect DDG should say "Did you mean !stock FR.TO"

So there it is, perhaps DDG can provide auto correct suggestions for !bang syntax.
