I think DDG should have search suggestions, like Google, Bing, Yahoo!, etc. It's kind of annoying if you are searching something really long, and you have to type the whole thing out, while with other search engines you can just click in the dropdown box.
I just emailed Eli Pariser, the man who wrote The Filter Bubble, about DuckDuckGo. Here is what I said:
Hello,
My name is Zack Peacock, and I would like to introduce you to a brand-new search engine: DuckDuckGo (http://duckduckgo.com). Whether you have heard of DDG or not, it doesn't matter. I was wondering if you could write about it. It is very anti-track and very anti-bubble (see http://donttrack.us and http://dontbubble.us). I am emailing you because of your book, The Filter Bubble. In the DuckDuckGo Community (http://duck.co) we have been discussing ways for DDG to get more publicity because you are also anti-bubble. If you will not write, do you know someone who will? If so, please tell them about DDG and forward them this email.
You can contact the founder of DDG at yegg@.mit.edu.
Lately I have been thinking of ways for DDG to get more publicity, and thought of Twitter. What if a bunch of people start Tweeting about DDG? Make it on the trending list. I don't know, just an idea.
