Looking for language leaders!

We need your help to make DuckDuckGo the best search engine for developers. Our open source instant answer platform, DuckDuckHack, has been focused in the last couple of months on crafting the best developer Instant Answers for 5 programming languages (CSS, JavaScript, Perl, Python and Swift). Now we'd like to open that up to more languages and are looking for open source contributors to become DuckDuckHack Language Leaders.

As a voluntary DuckDuckHack Language Leader, you will work with DuckDuckGo staff and other open source contributors to make the search engine the best place to start for programming search queries in your language. The 10 new languages are:

  • C
  • C#
  • C++
  • Haskell
  • HTML
  • Java
  • Objective-C
  • PHP
  • R
  • Scala

You do not need to be an expert in a particular language to be a DuckDuckHack Language Leader, and there can be multiple leaders per language. You can join up with a friend if you like.

We've been hard at work making documentation, data feedback loops, and other tools to help you succeed. It's fun! You get to make cool stuff like this:

If you're interested, please join us on our DuckDuckHack forum by expressing your interest on the following thread, noting the language you're interested in. For example, you can just post, "Hi, I'm X, and I'm interested in becoming a DuckDuckHack Language Leader for Haskell."

If you'd like more information on what exactly you'd be doing, check out this thread: Looking for language leaders

Thank you! Without you, DuckDuckHack would not be possible.
