The New Notification System
In the last few weeks, I've worked hard to add a notification system to the community platform. It turned out that it was a visually complex topic, as we need to show those notifications for you on the web and also through email. Plus, we have several content types (and comments on those types), comments on comments, comments on comments on content types and so ;). It was getting complex and it required a massive cleanup to reach the point we have now! So, let me introduce to you to...
The new notification system
Now, when you login to the community platform, you have a new button to see the current notifications (they are also seen, "on top" of your user icon, if there are any) and another one to edit the notifications you want to receive.
Right now, the editor is very simple and just allows you to follow all comments, all new tokens or all new translations (in your language of course). This will be more detailed in the future and will allow you to follow specific blog posts or other specific topics. It's only a visual thing, right now, and needs some buttons. The system will then send you emails in the cycle you want and, soon, you will also be able to get them instantly, if chosen. This setting can be set very specific and allows you to get exactly the right amount of notifications for your preference.
If you'd like to get involved in token translation, we'd really love for you to, at least, follow the new tokens. We would like to have a faster workflow cycle for bringing new translations to the site and the notification system is a first step towards this goal.
