Community Activity and Overview

Hello, everyone!

We now have some work done for next revision of Goodies templates! It's still a work in progress, but we will get the documentation and some examples for it made soon. Goodies templates will make the design/front-end process of Instant Answers much easier, like Spice Templates currently do.

Shout out to the people who worked on the issues in last week's e-mail specifically @tommytommytommy for making Flights prettier, and to @NeoSilky for improving InTheaters. Check out the other notable changes below!

Hello, everyone!

We've been hard at work on new design templates to use in building your instant answers. We're looking forward to debuting those over the next few weeks. It is part of a larger push for more design templates, styleguides, and a generally easier contribution process. If you have any feedback on how we can improve the Instant Answer process, please let us know or get involved!

Special thanks to andrey-p for fixing last week's issue of improving Nutrition's triggers!

Hi, everyone!

Here's this week's list of ideas and bugs that you can work on. Feel free to ask us if you have any questions!

We also need your help on a subproject that we have going on which is improving DuckDuckGo's support for programming languages. Check out last week's post for more information.

In the background, we're building out the IA pages on top of the Community Platform, and we're also making a bunch of improvements to DuckPAN. All this is open source, so hack on whichever one you like!

Community Activity and Overview This Week

Hello, everyone!

We're glad to announce that we've made it easier to get started with our Goodie Quick Start tutorial! Check it out if you'd like to try making instant answers.

We're currently looking to improve our programming language support on DuckDuckGo, and it could be anything from standard functions to package managers. We have a few that already work such as Python, jQuery, RubyGems, and Clojure. If you'd like to help us out, head on over to DuckDuckHack! You can find the list of languages that we currently support here.
