Like suggested earlier, I would highly recommend ScriptSafe [1] for Google Chrome. Also I would recommend AdBlock [2] over AdBlock Plus [3].

This is due to AdBlock Plus' shady dealings with corporations to whitelist ads and due to their URL-typo-correction. The later can result in overwriting the referrer to theirs on Amazon so that they earn money without referring anything. If you speak German, you can read more about it here [4]. There is also a statement by Till Faida [5] to this article (German again). The links he provided to show that the whitelisting is one hundred percent understandable and community-based, speak for themselves: Whitelisting-rules get pushed through if there is one user saying, that it's ok for him/her. And most of the time, it is someone with just one post ever made. Quite suspicious. The same goes for the change of their guidelines. These have been altered to get certain advertisers on the whitelist.

For the same reason, I would not recommend AdBlock Plus for Firefox but AdBlock Edge [6].

With best regards,
Onse.
