Using posts on social media, where people can't help but talk, complain, worry about the weather THEY are experiencing, is a useful and honest way to evaluate how people are actually experiencing weather, or traffic, lots of things. Start with key words "ghastly" is a good one, in we b**** and moan often, rarely will someone take the time to say the weather is "fabulous", unless their in say Maui and want to PO their co-workers... After all how many of us chime in and say traffic was great today.... (very unscientific evaluation, just my POV)
