I just tested several of these:
Google News (!gn)
Google News (!news)
Google News (!n)
Google News (!gnus)
Google News (!gnews)
Google News (mobile) (!gnm)
Google News Archive (!newsarchive)
Google News Austria (!gnat)
Google News France (!newsfr)
Google News French (!gnfr)
Google News Germany (!gnde)

and the ones that I tested (English only) worked fine, which one(s) specifically are failing for you?

Thank you for your replay,

actually, none of them work, but I get different results depending of which one I use:

I'm redirected to "https://encrypted.google.com/" if I use global !bang, namely with no country code in it (!n, !news, !gnews...)

otherwise I'm redirected to the the google home page of the country, e.g. "https://www.google.at/" with !gnat

I tried on 2 different computer with different browsers (firefox and chrome) from France

I'll have the developers take a look at this. Thanks!

In America, I tried !n to go to Google news from Windows Firefox and it too takes me to https://encrypted.google.com/.

Do you have any browser plugins?

no extension/add-on at all for me, only the flash plugin, deactivating it does not change the issue. Same problem on iceweasel 31.2.0

Can you give an example of the full url it takes you to?

Have you tried this recently? We made a fix to the google news bangs a few days ago and I'm wondering if you problem is related.

well... it looks like it could be related indeed :)
as I said, the URL I'm taken to depend on the bang I use : either "https://encrypted.google.com/" or the country home page if the bang is country specific e.g. "https://www.google.at/" with !gnat
thanks

It's still faulty and has been for approx. 7 days (browsers tested = Firefox/Chromium, OS= Linux Mint 17, country = UK) ...

!n at https://encrypted.google.com/ gives me https://encrypted.google.com/

Sounds like you mean to say that !news will take you to the homepage UNLESS you specify a search term, like !news comet

We'll take a look at that since I think it worked the right way before (!news would take you to news.google.com)

it's not exactly what I meant, but you're actually right,
if I specify a search term it's working.

the thing is that I'm redirected to different URL depending on the !bang I use without specifying any search term.

thank you for taking a look at that

TV
!bangs have been developed to redirect depending on your region.
If no region has been set (global) it will take you to the encrypted dot google, otherwise it will take you to the google dot country domain.
