"How do I submit my site to DuckDuckGo?"
We get this question a lot and since people ask it in our forums most often, we're addressing it here and will sticky to the sidebar for the future (thanks to @x.15a2
for the suggestion).
DuckDuckGo gets its results from over one hundred sources, including DuckDuckBot (our own crawler), crowd-sourced sites (like Wikipedia, which are stored in our own index), Yahoo! (through BOSS), Yandex, Yelp, and Bing. Once your web site has been indexed byour sources it will appear in DuckDuckGo searches.
Our own crawler (DuckDuckBot) finds sites automatically, so there is no reason (or place) to submit particular sites or URLs. Because we generate results using a variety of sources, information on our site is generally flowing from one of those sources. If it is in our instant answer box or is an official site, you can identify the source by looking at the, "More at" link in the instant answer box. It is best to correct misinformation at the source so that it will automatically flow to us and all the other sites that consume the source.
