Could DuckDuckGo suggest the Tor Hidden Service when using Tor?

When I start the Tor browser, I always manually find the http://3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion address and base my searches from there.

Would there be a clean and simple way for DDG to identify you're coming from a Tor exit node (maybe wash against the Directory/Atlas) and recommend using the Tor Hidden Service instead of the clearnet address?

Would there be any exit benefit in doing so, e.g. vulnerabilities found in SSL, a rogue exit point, etc?
