Just signed up. How do you get rid of the link with Firefox and Google. These two seem to be still active when I use Duckduck. In other words, when I search in Duckduck my history is recorded in boht Firefox and Google. What can I do to stop this happening?

Not completely sure what you are referring to re: Google as there is no connection at all between them and DDG.

WIth Firefox (or any other browser), your browsing history is maintained locally unless you take steps to disable it. You can take steps to disable or delete this local storage of your search history but it is not something that DDG or other web sites have any control over. Browser history is fully controlled by the browser and should not be confused with tracking, in which your search data would be stored and shared with others (which DDG does not do).

As x.15a2 says, it could be that your browsing history is being saved (default behaviour). Other things could be search suggestions, which can be turned off in Firefox in Preferences -> Search.

Also, it might help to switch off search queries displaying in URLs by going to DuckDuckGo advanced settings -> Privacy -> Requests shown in url (turn off and save). Note that this only affects searches made from the DuckDuckGo website - not searches from the browser address bar or search bar.
