!g searches now automatically redirects me to regional google searches

Dear all,

I've been using Duckduckgo actively for a year now, mainly because it allows me to force google to search on google.com with the !g shortcut (I'm french). However, I just realized that the !g trick doesn't work anymore and that I get systematically redirected to google.fr when I do a research such as 'lapin !g'. It's even weirder as I recently moved to the US.
Any idea about why that trick stopped working ?
Is there a way to forbid those annoying redirections with the !bang shortcuts of Duckduckgo ?
Thank you,

Thomas

I'd also be interested to hear how the world traveller region works for you. We've added some pretty nifty language detection work recently that should make the results more relevant. Can you try that out and let me know how it goes? Example queries that are bad would be wonderful!
