Parental controls seem pretty weak

I'd like my kids to use duckduckgo as their search engine, but as of yet, I can't see a way of getting any real safe searching for them. For example, with safe search on for google, I get the first screenshot. And with safe search on for DDG, I get the second screenshot. Notice any difference?

I already use blocksi so that my kids couldn't go to these sites if they tried, but I'd rather not give them the temptation.

Ideally, there'd be a way to set up safe searching mode with a password, but as a first step, I just want safe searching that actually works. Any help would be appreciated.

That's actually very strange, I'm not getting those results for "porn". Maybe a temporary bug? Are you still experiencing this in DDG?

I get those. The only noticeable difference between safe mode and non-safe mode seems to be hidden "meanings" instant answers and changed order of results.

I've replicated what you are seeing and have requested that the developers take a look at this. I'll report back any information that I receive. Thanks!

Thanks! I realized that if i turn on the region flag, search results become slightly safer. Trying to attach a screenshot here.

OK. See my third screenshot. Unsafe results are now the 4th on the list (a bit better than the 1st).

Yeah, and not just for children. DuckDuckGo should be accessible by everyone.

So there should be plenty of control options to make it clean to search with DuckDuckGo!

It is foolish to rely on filtering running on the machine intended to be filtered: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=ubuntu+usb+boo...
