Tracking with Yahoo.net?

When I open DuckDuckGo it immediately connects to Yahoo.net. Are there other sites accessed? Yahoo is known for tracking their users. What keeps them from tracking anything I search using DuckDuckGo? Who else is watching? What about Anti-virus and "internet protection" programs? Norton, McAfee, Trusteer, etc. are also candidates to know where we go.
Thanks.

Of course you are safe when using DDG and no one (including Yahoo) tracks you when using our services. This article explains the partnership between Yahoo and DDG: https://duck.co/help/company/yahoo-partn...

In summary, the server is owned and operated by DuckDuckGo, to comply with our privacy policy, and the domain is delegated by Yahoo through DNS. This can be verified at the command line by checking the CNAME record using:

Code:
dig duckduckgo-owned-server.yahoo.net
