Hi all,

As has been mentioned before, we're planning to close this forum and now have a date - Monday January 9th, 2017.

There are several reasons for this including:
* Good discussions already happening in the DuckDuckGo subreddit (general chat) and DuckDuckHack forum (developer chat).
* A large amount of spam that x.15a2 has been patiently dealing with. Very patiently!
* The maintenance required with our limited resources.

There are many useful tips and suggestions here so we'll keep the content available but will disable posting and commenting - effectively the forum will be archived.

Thank you all for the helpful and friendly discussions and we look forward to continuing them in the subreddit and DuckDuckHack forum.

Thank you all for the many comments, questions and suggestions. Particular thanks go to user x.15a2 for constantly monitoring, replying and helping so many users here. To continue these discussions, please head over to the DuckDuckGo subreddit.

Is the DuckDuckGo subreddit maintained by you, the staff, or just by enthusiast Redditors? Do you contribute there as here? Maybe I'm just old, but Reddit was always weird to me.

Hi. The subreddit moderators are a mixture of staff and vetted community leaders. We do post and reply there but given our size, we also rely on the community for self-policing. We're lucky to have enthusiastic and friendly users so this seems to work well.
