IPv6?

Are there any plans to provide DDG over IPv6? The World IPv6 Launch is nearing and it would be nice to see DDG on IPv6. Google is!

We use Amazon EC2 VPC now, which doesn't support ipv6 yet, so that's the holdup. Curiosity -- beyond fun :), is there a particular reason you'd like it?

have you seen http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/ElasticLoadBalancing/latest/DeveloperGuide/using-elb-ipv6.html ? You could expose your services over v6 this way. Of course, I have no idea whether DDG is using ELB at all.

How about pushing Amazon more, to make them aware we want it? I think we shouldn't just wait indefinitly, but show ISP and CDN operators that we would rather want this sooner than later (so we can experiment, prepare own infrastructure to handle load, write log parsers and html generators, dns servers, ssl), so we can plan in advance and make transition smoother.

I personally have few network where IPv6 conectivity is actually better than IPv4, so would like this to happen.

They are definitely aware. They're also adding features all the time so I'm guessing it will come relatively soon, but I don't have any idea on their actual roadmap of course.

I would also like to have ipv6 access to ddg.

reason:
- this hack http://help.duckduckgo.com/customer/portal/articles/255650 does not work if you're IPv6 connected

The kind of people who loves DDG also loves to play with 'things' like ipv6

So... we need ipv6!

I'd love to see this too. Though it seems the wait is currently on Amazon.

(just throwing my weight behind the idea!) :-)

IPv6 only is starting to happen with mobile operators. Are there any plans to add IPv6 support? Have you raised a recent issue with Amazon?

This is getting pretty ridiculous.

Amazon EC2 VPC now supports IPv6.
What is your excuse now? http://ipv6excuses.com/

Hi. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm not sure of the current status but will forward that blog post.
