You should be able to add it to your search bar already. What else would you have the toolbar do?

Some features that could be useful :

  • reminder of the !bang keywords
  • autocomplete on !bang keywords
  • buttons to enlight search terms in result page, like the google toolbar lite

I like the !bang keywords idea, but right now DDG doesn't have enough features to have a toolbar.

Instead of making a DuckDuckGo toolbar, why not instead get DDG integrated into other website's toolbars? (like as the default search engine)

I haven't seen the Wolfram|Alpha toolbar, but they could have a dropdown saying "search the web with DuckDuckGo".

As for myself I really hate the whole toolbars idea.

A great pic describing the issue is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/30592906@N00/1924189728/

I hear toolbar, I think run. Of course from my perspective, I'm uninstalling them almost daily from peoples' computers. I have to install and uninstall software constantly, even on my PC and get so very tired of "install this toolbar" "install that toolbar", "would you like to shoot yourself while installing this toolbar?" So I would have to say, NO.

There is a website where you can make your own toolbar with all different kinds of sites and stuff, and I have a toolbar with DuckDuckGo Search, Settings, Yahoo! Mail, StumbleUpon, Pandora, duck.co, Vimeo, and NewsBlur. Maybe we could do something like that.

I have to agree with pchammer on this one. I hear the word toolbar and I can’t run away fast enough!

@AGreenEarth

I'm not sure of the name of the website. Ask voop556; he was the person who made the toolbar I have.

Do you mean the toolbars from Alexa?

I don't think that was it. I no longer have access to the email address that voop sent the link to, but I'm sure he still has it. IF anyone has any others that might be it, post the link and I will try to identify it. Thanks!

It was Alexa, I made one with things I use.
