Is there a way to say where you are in the search? e.g. is it raining cleveland

It had actually worked if you did "is it raining in x", but now it is more broad and should pick that up, i.e.

How is it supposed to find me? It thinks I am in Santa Fe NM. 4 states off.
And it doesn't ask for my location, as it would if it used geolocation, so what does it try and fail to do? (btw. I use satellite internet, possibly from out of SF, NM)

Oh, right, my IP! No wonder! It is because of my satellite! *sigh*, duckduckgo can't find me...
Maybe add something in the settings (or elsewhere) to specify locations?

Yes, a location setting would be useful. You can also just add in the location, e.g. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=is+it+raining+in+atlanta

Easier method for the query [is it raining]

  1. Open a new window
  2. Stick out hand

This is probably the funniest post I've seen on Duck.co in a while.

Strange......

In HTTP mode, "is it raining" accurately recognizes my location. (says New York, NY)
In HTTPS mode, "is it raining" is about 100 miles off. (says Phoenixville, PA)

I think this was a caching issue and should be fixed.

This should be added to the Goodies page under "location aware"

I typed in, "is it raining in Fairfield, Connecticut" and it comes back with:
"
Raining Cats & Dogs Pet Salon 10636 N 71st Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85254; (480) 991-3252 [Map] [Nearby] More at Yelp"

Using CT for Connecticut gives a less-funny result.

That is funny! I keep looking for the purposefull ?easter eggs? which are often included by real humans (not mIkrosshofkt or go-o0ogel brand robotic programmers) in websites and apps.
eg. about:robots in firefox
