Community Driven Bang

Users would be able to create and add their own !Bang without DuckDuckGo deciding which ones.  What do you think about this idea?

Yeah, I think this is good, but the first step is enabling accounts in some way. Once I have that set up, then settings (including custom bangs) could be saved. Right now they wash away with your cookies, which is fine for settings, but not for stuff you spend more time to do like custom bangs.

You could enable accounts, and you don't need to enable accounts.  A custom Bang would work without enabling an account.  As long as one user wants a custom bang, make it work for the others.

Ahh so you're basically suggesting a form that inputs the data in a right way to make it easier on me?

Regardless of whatever seach box magic format you'd implement, if you do implement accounts, please use OpenID!

I like this idea. Ability of making a bang for a local post codes is an example use case.

Making all the bangs world needs can not be done by yourself I guess :)
