Do I have to use another browser such as IE to get to DDG. If not how do I setup DDG to be my one and only?

DuckDuckGo is not a web browser, it is a search engine. You do have to use a web browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, etc.) to access DuckDuckGo or any other search engine.

When you load https://duckduckgo.com in your browser of choice, take a look at the "Add to browser" button in the bottom right of the page--it will tell you how to set DuckDuckGo as your default search engine in that browser.

I'm sure DDG can act as a browser if you used the app on Windows 8.x and on the iphone.

So, was the original post a question about the DDG mobile app?

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Windows 8.x but the latter can be used on laptops and desktops :)
