I know this is hilarious, but I'm trying to quit gmail (STOP SCANNING MY DUCKING MAIL), and because I got no money and I'm a child I can't get the equipment to self-host.

So, I thought of an alternative..... aol mail.
Yeah, I know.
I remember when you needed to pay for that crap. My mom had an aol, my first email was yahoo.

So, I checked out their privacy policy.... and... it's too good to be true.

"AOL may use information about your use of certain communication tools (for example, AOL e-mail or AOL Instant Messenger); however, AOL does not read your private online communications when you use these communication tools without your consent."

So... they use metadata? Who cares? The NSA does that already.

How do they even make money? Should I be concerned?

Its basically like this: they dont read because they dont care but if something bad is about to happen your info will be leaked to third party if necessary.
