Android App Images Shown for Stories

What is the source for images shown for stories on the android app (if not from the story itself a la imgur)?

Sometimes when it doesn't pull the image from the story and the story title has certain keywords (e.g., "shitfaced"), inappropriate images can appear.

It would be nice if at least there was a way to report (and thus hide) the inappropriate image.

That is a DDG service. Inappropriate stories are usually filtered out automatically -- can you give an example of such a story which did show up?

Noted on a report button. That might not be a bad idea.

I don't recall the actual stories being inappropriate apart from some language in the titles. That particular one was from Gaming (reddit). The image that was displayed by the app (not in the actual story) was definitely inappropriate, though.

I totally agree. We are in the process of building an image curation tool (codename Monocle) because of this. Even though very graphic images are rare, the experience degrades with poor image relevancy. We plan to curate the images by hand based on suggestions made by the current system. Perhaps when it's ready we can get the community involved!
