I have the issue of the Firefox browser freezing when I conduct a search in DuckDuckgo. Is anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions to correct this?

Have you tried disabling addons?

It may be that you can have lots of addons installed or malware installed on your computer.

Uninstall unneeded addons(they make your browser noticeable slow)

I suggest making sure you are using the latest version of Firefox, run a virus scan, and clear your browser's cookies/cache and try again.

I have the exact same problem as Cissy. I have the following Firefox addons:

New Tab Homepage,
NoScript and
Organize Search Engines 1.7

also the icon for DuckDuckgo is missing in the search bar.

I beleive that the problem is either due to New Tab Homepage or Organize Search Engine
