Company History
·  September 25, 2008: Solo founded in 2008 by Gabriel Weinberg and self-funded for the first few years.
·  October 13, 2011: Funding from Union Square Ventures (backers of Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare, Kickstarter, etc.).
·  February 13, 2012: Reached over 1,000,000 direct searches/day.
·  May 1, 2012: Launch of DuckDuckGo's Instant Answer platform, "DuckDuckHack."
·  June 10, 2013: Reached over 2,000,000 direct searches/day.
·  June 17, 2013: Reached over 3,000,000 direct searches/day.
·  January 9, 2014: New record of almost 4,500,000 direct searches/day.
·  February 26, 2014: Broke new record of more than 5,000,000 direct searches/day.
 
Traffic
·  Over a billion searches in 2013.
·  50% of DuckDuckGo's users are from the US, 45% from Europe and the remaining 5% from Asia-Pacific.
