I found out that the DuckDuckGo do offer the expand URL service, but how about the shortening URL service?

Bitly has better and faster API. It's still in beta though.

Hi TV,

I don't really understand what you are trying to say. Could you enlighten me on how does this Bitly relate to the URL shortening service?

By the way, if community ever decide to vote up for this, we can make our own url shorter with http://ddg.gg/

I'd respectfully suggest that a better URL shortener API to use would be is.dg (Is Good) because it seems to be more in line with DDG's business model.

I think is.dg is a good idea, and the api is simple enough to use

Actually guys we already have a URL Shortening Spice, which does in fact use http://is.gd, but it hadn't been updated for the redesign so it's been offline.

However, I do have good news: a PR has been made today that updates the Spice and it should be live shortly :)

A shortening url who do not tracks you is a great idea. duc.co maybe?
