I would give my kingdom to be able to have my pinboard results mixed in with other search results.

Quite often I find that I'm ddg'ing for things that I've already bookmarked. I also find that I look through pinboard for things that I think I might have bookmarked but haven't. In both cases I waste time. I find I'm doing this about 30% of the time. The root cause is that I have no way of searching through pinboard and ddg at the same time. If my pinboard results were mixed in with my search results, they would be way more relevant to me. Of course there would have to be payment for this valuable service, which could be in the form of this information being also available to the rest of your users. Imagine if this rich pre-tagged source of information was available to enhance your search db? It would not violate your privacy principles as this would be voluntary and transparent.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! It's certainly a neat idea but this isn't feasible with the current Instant Answer setup and the way the Pinboard API works. The Pinboard API requires per-user authentication to get the posts for the given user. If the API were different, e.g. you could search for a username and return a list of public posts then we could definitely return that in an instant answer but we still wouldn't be able to merge those with the organic links.

I'm not sure if this idea would fit within the space of Instant Answers necessarily. It really just looks like having the pinboard bookmarks blended in with other search results. Of course, this would rely on me being able to give DDG the ability to authorise to view my pinboard bookmarks, which might require some sort of identity for me on the DDG side.

So, no interest at all?
