Lets do it together
We have the events API and need help from DuckDuckGo developers community to do it.

I believe that our Events API will be a great add-on for DuckDuckGo. Showing immediate event listing results will make their visitors happy.

About GetEvents:

Over the past 3 years GetEvents has created one of the biggest events databases in the world (over 5M live events). We collect events via APIs, our own smart crawlers, and from our users.
Our API is global and free.

We opened our API and already have WordPress, Jimdo, and WIX integrated with us in order to create an automatic events page for their users.
In the travel industry, we are talking with companies like: booking.com and Expedia in order to bring their travelers an event discovery service.

We see search engines companies as our strong partners as their users start their events searches inside their service.

We will be happy to work with the developers here in order to do it the right way.

We are just about to launch a SeatGeek powered "events" type Instant Answer which will primarily focus on Music/Sports related events, but I believe an alternative Instant Answer powered by GetEvents for other types of events would be fine

Regarding the design, it should be made to look similar to our current SeatGeek concerts Instant Answer: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=ed+sheeran+con...

Thanks, Moollaza.

All Seatgeek events are already inside the GetEvents database. Seatgeek covers just a small part of music and sports events and not in all cities/countries. They have around 120K live events, and we have around 5M events.

If you have already finished with their integration, maybe you can add us inside and combine the two APIs together. When Seatgeek has music/sports events in a location, you will show the events and the other categories (Business, Technology, Arts, Family, Food, etc.) from GetEvents. If they do not have events in a location, you will show events from GetEvents as we will take control of all events categories.

What is the next step?
Can we do it ourself?
Or we need someone from Duck developers?
Thanks

Who will work with us on this?

@Yaniv, very sorry for my delayed response. I'm talking with the team this week and will get back to you shortly on this.

Would you be able to give me access to your API to evaluate and test is? Please send me an email, moollaza@duckduckgo.com

Cheers,

Also, all our Instant Answers are Open-Source, so if you'd like to build your own IA that works like the SeatGeek Instant Answer, it's certainly doable:

You can see the code here for SeatGeek:
https://github.com/duckduckgo/zeroclicki...

If your team is willing to build a GetEvents Instant Answer, that would be great! Then we can very easily compare them and determine how we'd like to proceed.

We prefer that DuckDuckGo will develop the product. Right now we are a data company and prefer to work on the events data. The best thing is to work with one of your developers in order to do it right.
As i said the API will be open for DuckDuckGo.

Did this go anywhere? Would be interested to see this, especially for non-ticketed events.
