For example, the search "!ddg !g !b barack obama" would open up search results for barack obama in DuckDuckGo, Google and Bing, each site being in their own tab.

I could see this going a bit haywire by somebody typing in every single bang though, so you might want to put a cap on how many bangs you can put in front of a search (maybe make that cap an option somewhere).

Could be annoying and would force disabling pop-up blocker (one click is allowed to only open one window).

Duly noted---thanks for the idea! In the future, anything non-plugin related can either go to our forum at: Duck.co or to our feedback page at duckduckgo.com/feedback

Thanks again!

Imagine someone typing something like D!RTY AUD!O (electronic dance music producer). It's enough that I get thrown to this link, I would go absolutely mad if that search opened more irrelevant tabs in my browser.

This idea is great!
But I would suggest/prefer the searches in the same window, there is a lot of white space on the results page to take advantage of.

the problem with this is that DDG is not going to embed !bangs results...

It's an interesting idea, but it's going to get really cluttered really fast. I suggest that we get ideas on how to streamline the UI before going any further.

If this were available, I would definitely use DDG more often than Google
