The image search should offer options to filter the images like by size, color, type and maybe licensing information.

I created an account specifically for this request - Image search is seriously under developed and could use those features listed above - My specific request is for size filtering - being able to select a size range with a min/max for both height and width separately.

Additionally, new searches when viewing images should STAY on images and not go back to pure website results.

The reason why we don't have a more specific options is because image search on DuckDuckGo is relatively new (it was introduced during the redesign in May 2014). Because of this, specific options aren't in the IA yet. This is a good idea though.

I've always thought it would be great for the <img> html tag to include a way for the creator to add license info so that image filters could more easily let the user know that an image can, or cannot, be used in their work. I know that's a bit outside of a regular duck idea but it is perhaps something duckduckgo could help sponsor w/ the W3C.

There is already something similar available. At least for CC licenses. They have tree layers which includes a technically layer.
This way search engines can index it.

BTW I really like the idea of photo filtering. This is a feature DuckDuckGo really lacks.
E.g. filtering only CC-licensed images like on the CC site: http://search.creativecommons.org/

Of course it would be great if this would be extended to any search, but I think photos are the most important thing.
