This could be similar to the stopwatch/timer IAs, but maybe also be triggered by searches like "120 bpm" or "120 beats per minute".

It'll need click sounds from somewhere.

Edit: I meant it could be similar to the stopwatch/timer IAs in that it has a JS interface.

This is a great idea! It could definitely be implemented as a Spice (it doesn't have to use an API) just like the current Timer and Stopwatch IA's.

Have a proof of concept actually quite ready, need to create more sound formats, is wav aiff and ogg enough for cross platform support? Also need to convert it to a spice, hopefully this doesnt take too long.

I believe any of those formats are OK. We use a soundplayer lib that handles all common formats.
