The main weather services that are known for accuracy or being closest to accurate are The Weather Channel and Weather Underground. I hope Duckduckgo considers using one of these. Weather Underground (Wunderground.com) has more features and data that could be used in instant answers. Also they provide reliable information for each area. Please think about using one of these for your search results so it will have the best data possible on the web.

I personally think that the current weather source, forecast.io, is a great choice. I've been using it for a while because of it's insane accuracy that I haven't seen from The Weather Channel.

Agreed. Plus, forecast.io has a similar "no tracking" philosophy of DDG and is very accurate due to gathering and computing forecasts from multiple sources. Further, Forecast.io has a very affordable API vs that of forecast.io.

We're happy with the current provider (Forecast.io) and have a good relationship with them. We haven't received any complaints about accuracy yet either so I feel the current provider is a good choice.

In general, it's up to the community to decide on what sources they prefer and if there's enough demand to change the source our policy is to first check if the current provider can address any problems that may exist. So, if we're finding that Forecast.io is inaccurate and can't fix the problem, we're definitely open to investigating alternative sources.

I recently switched to using Forecast.io for checking the weather because it's much more simplistic (and accurate) than The Weather Channel and Weather Underground. I will add that Weather Underground is a close second for me since I really enjoy their free app, but I keep forecast.io up all day long on my browser for the most part.
