Google already provides translating services for written languages, but I'm not aware of one for sign language. Is there a way we can connect "define _____" searches with an image of that word in sign language?

I'm not aware of an existing API that could do this. Assuming that still images are strong enough, it would just require a data set we can call.

Thoughts?

As a sign student myself I'm quite a fan of this idea and have been mulling over it recently. Hadn't previously found a great source to use but will keep looking!

Thanks, AdamSC1, for your support. Not sure about a source yet either. If I stumble across something I'll post it for sure.

I fand this a very good idea!! Perhaps also for other sign languages, once ASL is done. (In Europe there are many sign languages, and one cannot say that one is "more important/influential/dominant" than the other. But I still think i would be niche if there could be a translation to other sign languages.) It's difficult to find a good source, though. But I'll keep looking
