I'm working on such a plugin. Example:

Query: 'unicode U+263A'
Result: '☺ (white smiling face)'

Or:

Query: 'unicode white smiling face'
Result: '☺ (U+263A)'

Just saw now the existing DDG::Goodie::Unicode. Doesn't provide characters from the textual descriptions though... Maybe it could be an idea for improvement of the existing one?

For some reason I thought the same plugin couldn't answer "unprefixed" queries like U+590c and "prefixed" ones as 'unicode small latin letter x'.

I got on IRC and discussed this idea, and apparently it's possible to do it. I'm trying to come up with a patch to the existing DDG::Goodie::Unicode.

Adding an improvement request for ASCII for individual characters:

Example search: ASCII A

You can do a pull request on the existing one and/or create a github issue about it.
