I think this is asking, is a port open on a server. Such as: `openport google.com 80` and it would return yes or no? or maybe they want a list of open ports, `openport google.com` and it will return a list of them. However, I have no come across a site that does nmap port scans and returns results in json.

It is possible, however, I don't have the resources to run the scanner myself. You would have to edit nmap from the source and allow a queuing system and returning objects in callback functions. Then you have to be able to reference the returns outside the application itself. Or you write the scan to a temp file and scrap the file when the scan is complete. Either way, it would take some time. If more people want it, I could give more detail about what I stated above. As far as the use is concerned, knowing open ports can help lead to fixing firewalls but for outside use, its usually for hackers who want to quickly see possibly vulnerability entrances.

This was suggested by another user and merged here. If you don't think it would be useful or technically possible, we can scrap it : )
