I think it makes sense to start with one specific system. Perhaps BART looks fairly easy: http://api.bart.gov/docs/overview/index....

If using the Google Maps API works, there is some transit information there that could be useful.

Trying to think how this would work. Would you need to provide 2 locations and get the transit information between?

I would guess that this is the sort of thing that the poster meant (imagine the box with the times in transferred into the DDG interface). For the UK the national rail equiries website is probably the place to start.

Any updates on this? I'm thinking of giving it a go, with UK (National Rail) trains to start with, at least.

We currently have a few Transit Spice Instant Answers that use specific API's to provide Train times for various transit authorities.

The code can be seen here: https://github.com/duckduckgo/zeroclicki...

We currently support NJT, PATH and SEPTA

There are also currently some devs working on INR (India) and Switzerland!

Would be cool to add the following locations in the future: BVG (Berlin), S-Train (Copenhagen), MTR (Hong Kong), Le Metro (Paris). Not sure how well these locations align with the countries DDG's most popular in but they're all in the top 10 of the most used public transportation systems.
