How about instant answer results using etymonline.com to provide a brief etymology of an English word. The user could type in simply "etymology of ____________" and the answer from etymonline would be displayed. I tried it, and it doesn't appear as if DuckDuckGo has this yet. I know I personally would use it all the time and it would be handy to have it so easily accessible.

Etymonline.com is the best source that I am aware of.

The English Language StackExchange currently serves this (sort of) but could use a major overhaul:

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=quint+in+quint...

Anyone out there have experience here? Which source is better for this type of info?

I think this could be easily set up as !bang instead. I suggested one:

!etymonline <word>

Hopefully it will be added shortly.
