Providing date relevancy

Providing a date related to each search result, would help to determine if this is old information or current information

That definitely should be. I noticed smoke in the sky, looked for 'fire in Moscow' and I couldn't have determined whether something was burning at that moment or not.

I find that it's absurd that when I perform a search I can't know ahead of time when the article was written.
There are at least two types of dates. The actual listed posted date of the article. The second would be the last modified date of the page on the server. This way an article that was written on March 3rd 2016 but was then revised over time 6 or 7 times would still have a date of e.g. March 25th 2016 as the last modified date. For pages generated on the fly it should still be possible to find some location of dated information associated with the posting.
