No worries, I understand as I too allow ads on some sites.
But they are sites where I decide the content, not some two faced developer with a fat wallet.

Slightly off topic...
You do know that Ad Block Plus has sold out by allowing what they call "unobtrusive ads"
Basically it seems if you throw enough money at the developers of Adblock they will show whatever advert you want.

Try Adblock Edge instead, Adblock Edge is a fork of the Adblock Plus version 2.1.2 extension for blocking advertisements on the web.
Keeping true to the original ideal of blocking ALL ads.

I like to second the idea of using the FF variant PALEMOON A fantastic browser.
And for added security add these addons:
Adblock Edge, for blocking advertisements on the web.
Ghostery, See who's tracking your web browsing and block them.
BetterPrivacy, Remove or manage a new kind of cookies, better known as LSO's.
Self-Destructing Cookies, Protects against trackers and zombie-cookies
NoScript Security Suite, Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS and Clickjacking attacks.

These addon's are not difficult to master and don't cause any slow down (or at least not that I have noticed)

Hope this also helps.
