a comment on the token [alt] ever feel like there's someone watching over your shoulder? in the domain DontTrack.us for the language French in France 3 years and 4 months ago
There's a subtle différence between "regarder au dessus" and "regarder par dessus". The former is centered on where is the thing you're looking at, while the latter is centered on how you get a vision of that thing. Regarding this token, the thing that someone is looking at is not above your shoulder. That thing couldn't be seen unless they bend over your shoulder. Thus I think "par dessus" is more appropriate.

In French, ALWAYS a space before an exclamation point !
a comment on the token [alt] 'Do Not Track' is voluntary and useless in the domain DontTrack.us for the language French in France 3 years and 4 months ago
The translation in use is wrong for 2 reasons:
1. the token is a single sentence (only one verb) with one subject (do not track) and 2 adjectives to characterize it. The translation in use is made of 2 sentences (two verbs: est) with one subject and one adjective for each. The problem is that the two subjects have opposite meanings. One is "you are tracking" and is called useless. The other one is "you are not tracking" and is called voluntary. This is obviously not a correct translation.
2. "Ne pas vous surveillez" is purely and simply not french. The simplest solution to solve that would be to substitute a R for the final Z. But then there is a consistency problem with the preceding sentence which should also be written with a final R (Vous surveiller).

There's no exclamation point in the original version. If one wants to add one in the French version, then there should be a space before it !

In French, the correct expression is "capture d'écran de" and not "capture d'écran depuis"
a comment on the token [alt] throwing a bucket of water on a towering inferno in the domain DontTrack.us for the language French in France 3 years and 4 months ago
Well guys, it's not because "inferno" sounds like "infernal" and "towering" reminds of a tower and that the movie "Towering inferno" was released in France under the title "La tour infernale" that this is a relevant translation! A towering inferno is just a huge fire, i.e. un immense brasier

Je voudrais préciser qu'en français, le point d'exclamation est toujours précédé d'un espace. Les deux propositions ainsi que la traduction en cours sont donc incorrectes. Pour l'emploi du mot "juste", je suis d'accord avec le commentaire ci-dessous indiquant qu'il minimise la portée de cette raison.
