I don't know if it just me, but this morning I noticed few changes on the DDG site:
1) the logo and slogan are smaller (or at least it seems that way to me).
2) I recall there were 3 buttons below in which you type your query. Now there's only 2.

I'm using IE 11 (with inprivate + enhanced protection in all 4 categories) on Windows 8.1.

I like to add something to your post.

In IE 10/11, once you've got your DDG parameter as your home page, turn on in-private browsing.
Next, from the in-private browsing, on click on the homepage.
At this point you should see your home page + the in-private browsing icon. From there drag the DDG icon located in the address bar to the taskbar.

In doing so you've created a short-cut in which in-private browsing will always be on whenever you click on the DDG to surf the 'net.

Thank god I'm not the only one who feels this way. In my opinion Opera mobile is wonderful, it desktop version - no so much.

I don't see any announcement regarding this so I'm sharing the news here :)

This is only for Opera 26+

Apparently you're wrong!
I wish I can get clarification on this. Sometimes the two ads shows up, other times it doesn't. Exactly what is the plan for DDG?

Is DDG experimenting with having 2 ads in the result page? In my opinion I think the one-ad idea is better because it contributes less to the sense of clutter as seen on Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ixquick/startpage.

It seems that Lightbeam tracks those that are tracking you without blocking those trackers. Disconnect.me not only tracks but also block them.

I love Dax and his smart looking bow tie.

Also, what 'limiting capabilities and acceptance' are you referring to?

Any chance that the site will be updated in the future in terms of 'other tools to consider'?
http://fixtracking.com/

It has been a year and while new tools had arrived, some of old ones ceased to exist.
Examples:
-'Do Not Track Me' no longer exist for IE. It seemed to have been replaced by 'Blur'.
-'NotScripts' are not available for the current version of Opera (25). It only available for version 17 and below.
-etc
