To expand on what @crazedpsyc said, if they eventually offer a JSONP API, we could use that for a Spice instant answer that perhaps looked up users. Alternatively if they are willing to be scraped a Fathead could be built, but this is not optimal because the list of users is bound to constantly change and so the Fathead would quickly be out of date.

However I think you're looking for an instant answer that just provides the given information about Zurker itself. Unfortunately I don't think this is really appropriate for an Instant Answer as they're intended to provide dynamic information for a given source, rather than just providing static information about a single source/entity.

As @crazedpsyc said, if however Zurker's information was in CrunchBase for example, then it would be included in our CrunchBase Fathead and would then surface whenever people search terms related to Zurker.

For now I'm going to mark this as "Not an instant answer". As mentioned if Zurker opens up an API, a more useful instant answer can then be discussed and implemented.

@p47r1ck does Zurker have an API that can be used? What were you thinking this instant answer would provide? Information about a searched user?
a comment on the Instant Answer Idea Better UI 4 years and 10 months ago
@Itsukarine You can change most of the look and feel of DuckDuckGo through our settings https://dukgo.com/help/settings/look-and.... You should be able to change most of the UI to mimic Google if you prefer.

Also, just so you know, this part of the forum is for "Instant Answers". Future posts like this should be put the "General Ramblings" section.

Thanks!

@brandonyoungdale great idea! Something like this would definitely need to use a realtime API, so I've changed the type to Spice (since those are the kinda of instant answers that use API's). Unfortunately it doesn't seem like any of the sources you suggested offer API's however a quick search surfaced http://www.spitcast.com/api/docs/ which seems like it could work.

@Edhightackle, thanks for the suggestion! We actually already provide exchange rates (though sometimes they're a little slow, which is something we're currently working on improving).

@macshaggy I take it you're using the DuckDuckGo Safari Extension? If so, it sounds like you might have an old version of the extension. I personally ran into this problem last week and resolved it by installing the newest version.

Please read this for more details and a link to the newest version: https://github.com/duckduckgo/safari-zer...

Hi @raw3r,

DuckDuckGo does not get any results from Google. We do however, use Bing, as well as many other sources for our organic links.

For more information on our sources you can visit our help pages article which explains our sources: https://dukgo.com/help/results/sources

Forgot to say that Forvo and Soundcloud use a JS Audio player that we use because its cross browser compatible and works on mobile :)

@DanielH,

As an alternative to HTML5 Audio, I suggest you look at the SoundCloud and Forvo Spice instant answers. If this instant answer is going to use JavaScript I suggest you create it as a Spice instant answer, and mimic the style of the Flash Version Spice. Basically it's like a Goodie that loads a JS file and also gives you Handlebars.js to create a template.
