You're correct. We currently show stock prices using WolframAlpha, https://duckduckgo.com/?q=aapl.

Unfortunately they can be quite slow to respond so if anyone would like to use a different API to serve stock quotes we'd really appreciate it!

Looks like this is a bug..that certainly isn't the expected behaviour. If you provide a location name it tried to provide the weather for that location rather than your current location. We'll look into this!

Thanks for reporting.

Thanks for pointing this out!

"News" and "Youtube" are both triggers for their respective instant answers. In this case "Youtube" is looking for "news" videos and vice versa. Youtube is just winning the race, but it probably shouldn't.

I'll make a note of this.

Thanks again!

Hi DanielH,

We haven't really had any instant answers utilize the Canvas or JS like this before, so I'm interested to see where it goes.

That being said, with respect to design, we aim for simplicity and we try to make sure Instant Answers don't take up too much vertical space (unless they can collapse, like our carousel Instant Answers).

You should be fine to do as you please, but try to avoid huge/tiny fonts, or tons of colour. I'm sure after you've made a pull request we'll have some thoughts and we can refine the design.

In regards to using that JS library and Canvas -- we usually don't allow the user of 3rd party libraries, but Riffwave is pretty tiny so that's acceptable. However I did notice that its not very cross-browser compatible, which is another major concern of ours. All of our Instant Answers should be cross browser compatible. We even aim to have IE7 and IE8 compatibility! As long as this works in most browsers we'll accept it.

I think it would be best for you to make a pull-request, sooner than later, with a mockup of what you were thinking so we can help you flesh out the look and feel and see how well this will work out.

How does that sound? Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions :)

I think the current implementation is the best because the YAHOO api used returns multiple matches for a single postal code, which makes the results a lot more dynamic: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=19301
